IMPORTANT NOTICE: To continue your current Overdraft Coverage your response is required by August 15, 2010.

Due to a regulatory change taking effect August 15, 2010, LaPorte Savings Bank will no longer be able to approve overdrafts on your everyday debit card purchases and ATM transactions through your No Bounce Advantage® privilege unless you “opt-in” and tell us you would like to continue this coverage.

This means that if you use your debit card and there is not enough money in your account, or a deposit is not yet available, your transaction will be denied.

Even if you do not request overdraft coverage for ATM withdrawals and debit card purchases, we may still pay your overdrafts for other types of transactions, including checks and ACH items at our discretion and in accordance with our overdraft policy.

What you need to know about overdrafts and overdraft fees.
An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough money in your account to cover a transaction, but we choose to pay it anyway. There are three (3) different ways we can cover your overdraft items:

  • No Bounce Advantage® is available for each qualifying account,
  • An overdraft line of credit is available to qualifying borrowers and can be linked to your checking account; and,
  • A link to a savings account can be established which may be less expensive than the other options listed above.

Overdraft Fees

  • We will charge you a fee of $30 each time we pay an overdraft.

Take Action Now to Avoid Losing Coverage
If you want us to continue to authorize and pay overdraft items on ATM and everyday debit card transactions beginning August 15, 2010, you must contact us. You can opt in to this continued overdraft coverage by:

  • Completing the online form below;
  • Calling our Operations Department at (219) 362-7511 or 1-866-362-7511; or,
  • Completing the paper form sent via postal mail or requesting an additional copy of this form at any LaPorte Savings Bank branch location.
